Cecilia Gialdini is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Edinburgh's School of Education, focusing on analyzing policies related to education integration and linguistic justice. Previously, she worked at Ulster University on a project funded by the Esperantic Studies Foundation, evaluating linguistic justice in public services. She earned her PhD from Ulster University in 2023, with a thesis on multilingualism through a public policy lens.
Her research interests center on linguistic justice, language policy, and multilingualism, with a focus on how policies impact marginalized communities and minority languages. She examines topics like emergency language management during crises (e.g., the pandemic) and the role of states in addressing linguistic disadvantages.
Her publications since 2021 highlight themes such as language-based justice frameworks, minority language rights (e.g., Kurdish communities), and policy evaluation in multicultural contexts. Her work often combines quantitative methods (e.g., developing linguistic justice indices) with qualitative analyses of real-world policy applications.
Cecilia’s research has been supported by grants from the Esperantic Studies Foundation, emphasizing her commitment to applied policy analysis. While currently without listed scientific awards or formal advisees, her contributions to linguistic justice and public policy are widely recognized in academic circles.
