Dr. Cecilia Frometa is an Assistant Professor of Child Psychology at Yale University School of Medicine and a core faculty member in the Psychology Section at the Child Study Center. She serves as the Director of the Family Based Recovery Program and developed the Racially Informed Clinical Formulation (RICF) tool to enhance culturally responsive care. Her roles include leading the Cultural and Linguistic Appropriate Services (CLAS) initiative under the CONNECT grant and consulting for the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) on mobile crisis teams.

Dr. Frometa earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University (2006), followed by a pre-doctoral clinical internship at Harvard Medical School/Department of Medical Affairs, and a post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University.
Her research focuses on improving clinical engagement for underserved populations and enhancing culturally responsive mental health care. She emphasizes trauma-informed approaches and the development of frameworks addressing systemic racism in mental health systems, such as the RICF tool.
