Cecilia Beaven is a Lecturer in Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. A Mexican artist with an MFA in Painting and Drawing from SAIC, she received a Fulbright fellowship during her graduate studies.
Her artistic practice explores mythology and ethnography as evolving narratives through painting, drawing, animation, and film, often at monumental scales. Her international exhibitions include murals in Mexico, the US, France, Japan, and a commissioned piece on the Mexico-US border wall in Tijuana.
