Cecile BATISSE

Cecile BATISSE is an Associate Professor at the École d'Économie, Université Clermont Auvergne, where she conducts research at the intersection of systemic analysis, sustainable development, and migration studies. She is affiliated with the CERDI (Centre d'Études et de Recherches sur le Développement International) and holds a European Chair on circular economy and industrial ecology with Arnaud Diemer.

Her research spans multiple domains including energy transition and climate change, circular economy implementation, residential migration patterns, spatial segregation, international economics, and labor market dynamics. Her work takes a distinctly systemic approach, examining how different elements of economic systems interact across multiple scales. She has conducted extensive research on migration patterns and integration in Canada, China, Argentina, and France, with particular attention to rural and peri-urban contexts.

Prof. Batisse's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on practical applications of economic theory to sustainability challenges, with numerous publications on circular economy implementation in the construction sector, territorial resilience tools, and citizen-driven energy transition. Her work consistently bridges theoretical economic frameworks with practical policy applications.

She has secured significant research funding including CRSH grants for immigration research and leads the IAM-LOOP project developing integrated assessment models for sustainable territorial development. Her collaborative work extends internationally with researchers from University of Iceland, University of Ottawa, and various Canadian institutions.

At Université Clermont Auvergne, Prof. Batisse teaches Systemic Analysis, Territorial Economics, Geographical Economics, Public Economics, Emerging Economies, Circular Economy, and System Dynamics across Bachelor and Master levels, reflecting the breadth of her research expertise.
