Cauê Dobbin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Georgetown University. His research focuses on inequality and the economics of education, with a particular emphasis on policy analysis in higher education, labor markets, and development economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University (2015-2022), an M.A. from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2013-2015), and a B.A. from Universidade de Brasília (2010-2012).
His work explores topics such as the impact of financial aid on tuition pricing, affirmative action policies, intergenerational mobility, and the effects of online education. Notable collaborations include projects with Treb Allen (Dartmouth), Melanie Morten (Stanford), and Sebastian Otero (Columbia).
Awards include the Spencer Dissertation Fellowship (2021) and the B.F. Haley and E.S. Shaw Fellowship (2020). He has received grants from institutions such as the Stanford King Center on Global Development and the Georgetown Center for Economic Research.
