Catriona Johnston

Catriona Johnston is a Lecturer and Course Leader for the Diploma of Higher Education in Gaelic Media at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, University of the Highlands and Islands. With media industry experience since 1987 spanning BBC Radio nan Gàidheal, STV, and Grampian TV, she joined academia in 1998. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Jordanhill College (1984-85) and an MA in Arts from Glasgow University (1981-84).

Her teaching focuses on practical media skills including:

• Television research and production
• Radio production
• News production
• Communication skills for media
• Editing skills
• Technical media skills

Ms. Johnston serves on Sabhal Mòr Ostaig's Quality Assurance Committee, Media Advisory Panel for work placements, and Student Advisory Team.
