Dr. Jensen earned her Ph.D. in Health Science from UiT (2019-2023), following a Master's in Pedagogy from the University of Tromsø (2012-2016), Practical-Pedagogical Education (2009-2010), and a Bachelor in Nursing from University College of Sør-Trøndelag (2004-2007).
Her research primarily focuses on interprofessional education and clinical supervision, with particular emphasis on patient-centered approaches in healthcare education. She investigates how digital tools can enhance supervision of nursing students in clinical placements and explores the role of patients in interprofessional learning environments. Her work addresses critical gaps in how patient perspectives are integrated into health professional education, particularly in rural and decentralized settings.
Dr. Jensen's recent publications demonstrate a strong trajectory in interprofessional clinical education research. Her work consistently examines patient involvement in healthcare student training, supervision strategies in clinical placements, and innovative educational approaches for nursing students in rural settings. She has made significant contributions to understanding how student teams develop patient-centered collaborative learning practices and how digital platforms can support clinical supervision.
Dr. Jensen serves as research group leader for the Health Professional Education group and is actively involved in the Norwegian network for interprofessional cooperation and collaborative learning, where she has served as board leader since October 2022. She also participates in the "Veiledningskompetanse for en bærekraftig helsetjeneste i Nord-Norge" (Supervision competence for a sustainable healthcare service in Northern Norway) project, which runs from 2023-2028.
She has held various representative roles in faculty councils and serves on the county council for NSF Troms and Finnmark. Her professional background includes clinical nursing experience in geriatric care at the University Hospital of North Norway (2007-2010) and community healthcare services in Tromsø (2018-2023), which informs her educational approach and research focus.
