Catrin Wyn Edwards is a Lecturer in International Politics at Aberystwyth University, specializing in migration, sanctuary practices, nationalism, and political geography. She holds a PhD in International Politics from Aberystwyth University (2014) and has conducted fieldwork across Europe, North America, and Wales. Her research emphasizes migrant carcerality, multi-level governance, and language policies in multilingual societies.

Research focuses on sanctuary policies, immigrant integration, and the intersection of nationalism with language education. She co-founded the Migration Research Wales Network (WISERD) and advises the Welsh Government’s Migrant Integration Steering Group. Her work bridges academia with policy, producing evidence-based briefings for governmental bodies globally. Key collaborations include EURAC, UQAM, Pompeu Fabra, and Université de Moncton.
