Catrin Borneskog Sinclair is a Senior Lecturer at Dalarna University's Department of Midwifery within the School of Health and Welfare. She holds a PhD in Medical Science from Uppsala University and has extensive clinical experience as a registered nurse, midwife, and former head midwife at Örebro University Hospital. Her teaching focuses on family formation challenges faced by same-sex female couples, including legal, emotional, and practical aspects of assisted reproduction and donor involvement. She coordinates the Global Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Adolescents and Young Adults program and the Quality Improvement in Healthcare course.
Her research explores psychosocial aspects of reproductive health, including assisted reproduction experiences, transgender healthcare access, and infertility care. She has published widely on midwifery practices, water births, and healthcare communication strategies. Sinclair currently leads initiatives integrating sexual and reproductive health education in post-war Ukraine and investigates menstrual cycle impacts on ADHD management.
Her work emphasizes family-centered care, with recent studies addressing parental experiences in childhood obesity counseling and midwives' perspectives on water birth practices. She actively supervises student dissertations across nursing, midwifery, and global health programs.
