Catia Prandi is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI) of the University of Bologna, Italy, and an external collaborator at the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI/LARSyS), Portugal, since 2016. Her work bridges Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and mobile computing, focusing on social good and sustainability through co-design methodologies and user participation.
Her research spans Smart Campus initiatives, Accessible Wayfinding systems, and Environmental Sustainability via IoT and citizen science. She has contributed to projects like H2020 CIVITAS “DESTINATIONS” and H2020 FET “SMARTLAGOON”.
Prandi’s publications highlight trends in Smart Cities (2023), Environmental Modelling (2022), and Child-Centered Design (2022). Her work integrates IoT, Machine Learning, and Gamification to address urban challenges and promote inclusivity.
