Cathy Swaenepoel is a maître de conférences (Associate Professor) at Université Paris Cité, affiliated with the Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu-Paris Rive Gauche and the Inria Ouragan project. Her research focuses on analytic number theory, particularly the distribution of prime numbers, digit patterns, finite field arithmetic, and connections to cryptography and algorithmic complexity.
Her research interests include the interplay between prime number digit properties and finite field structures, with applications in pseudorandomness and cryptographic protocols. She has developed novel analytic methods for studying preassigned digit sequences in primes and squares.
Recent publications include breakthroughs in reversible primes, digital constraints in finite fields, and additive character sums over structured sets. Her work bridges classical number theory with modern computational applications.
She co-organizes the Number Theory Seminar at IMJ-PRG and the Rencontres de Théorie Analytique et Élémentaire des Nombres at the Institut Henri Poincaré. Teaching roles at Université Paris Cité span analysis, algebra, cryptography, and agrégation preparation.
