معرفی
Dr. Cathy Moore is a Lecturer in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Westminster, part of the Sustainable Biotechnology research group. Her career spans academic and industrial roles focused on global health, diagnostics, and drug discovery for diseases prevalent in low-to-middle-income countries.
Education:
- BSc in Biochemistry, Queen’s University Belfast (2004)
- PhD in Parasitology, Queen’s University Belfast (2012)
Research Interests: Dr. Moore prioritizes global health challenges, with expertise in molecular parasitology, diagnostics development (e.g., malaria, tuberculosis), and plant biotechnology for producing biopharmaceuticals and diagnostic reagents. She applies techniques like heterologous protein expression in tobacco plants to advance molecular pharming.
Teaching: Deputy module lead for Research Methods and Final Year Project in Life Sciences. Teaches neglected tropical diseases, malaria drug discovery, and plant biotechnology applications.
Collaborations: Extensive partnerships with academic and industrial entities globally, focusing on diagnostics, antimalarial inhibitors, and immunotherapies for HIV.
