Cathy Balsom is a Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, serving as the Working Professional Pharm.D. Program Coordinator since 2015. She delivers lectures in Therapeutics with a focus on Cardiology, while actively engaging in expanded scope activities such as Medication Reviews and Medication Management Programs.

- Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Florida (2016)
Her research and practice interests revolve around Cardiology, Mental Health, and enhancing the pharmacist's role in improving patient outcomes through Medication Adherence and Pharmacy Practice innovations. She is registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board (NLPB) for advanced practice activities, including administering injections and prescribing for minor ailments.
Currently, her work emphasizes collaboration with healthcare professionals in community settings, optimizing drug therapy regimens, and leading the Working Professional Pharm.D. Program to support continuing education in pharmacy practice.
