Catherine Waite is a Senior Lecturer in Geography at the University of Northampton, affiliated with the Science Centre for Sustainable Futures. She holds a PhD in Human Geography from Loughborough University and has been at the University of Northampton since 2016.

Catherine's research focuses on the geographies of international migration and sport, particularly how migration influences career progression among English professional cricketers. She also leads work on inclusivity and accessibility in undergraduate fieldwork in Geography, Earth, and Environmental Sciences, with recent projects addressing the experiences of Global Ethnic Majority (GEM) students and those with mental health conditions.
Her recent publications from 2022 and 2023 highlight a strong trend toward inclusive pedagogy, mental health awareness, and equity in fieldwork education. Themes include race, disability, intersectionality, and the impact of the pandemic on fieldwork delivery. Her earlier work includes analysis of the National Citizen Service and hydraulic fracturing in the UK.
