Catherine Karoly

Catherine Karoly is a part-time lecturer at the USC Thornton School of Music and serves as Associate Principal Flute with the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2009. She holds a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School and a Phi Beta Kappa undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

As a Performing Artist for Burkart Flutes, Karoly has released solo albums like French Inspirations (2012/2014). Her teaching philosophy integrates advanced flute techniques demonstrated in complex modernist works like Berio’s Sequenza I, which she has performed publicly.

She maintains active performance affiliations with institutions including:
