Catherine Hooey is a Professor of Geography at Pittsburg State University's School of History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario (1993), M.A. from University of Alberta (1988), and B.A. from University of Toronto (1982). Her research focuses on human-environment interaction, particularly in marginal environments, mining landscapes, and agricultural adaptation.
Research interests include perception of environmental changes, hazard geography, and spatial decision-making processes. She teaches courses in World Regional Geography, Environmental Geography, Hazards and Disasters, and Geographic Information Systems.
