معرفی
Catherine Hall is a Researcher at the University of Eastern Finland's Law School within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies, affiliated with the Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law (CCEEL). Her research focuses on climate policy, decarbonization strategies, international law, and animal rights through a Global South perspective. She explores transformative legal frameworks, such as the Rights of Nature movement and inter-judicial dialogue, to address anthropocentrism in environmental governance.
Her work critiques Eurocentric legal paradigms and advocates for epistemic pluralism by integrating Indigenous and Southern worldviews. Key research themes include global governance mechanisms (e.g., climate clubs), sectoral policies for freight and steel industries, and the decolonization of international law through animal rights jurisprudence.
Catherine has published extensively on climate policy design, minilateral governance models, and legal innovations in animal rights, such as the landmark Estrellita Case. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary debates on sustainable development, equity, and planetary boundaries.
