Catherine Ford is a Clinical Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia (UEA). She is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with 18 years of experience providing specialist input to adults with long-term neurological conditions, including 7 years as a stroke specialist.

Dr. Ford earned her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge and her Doctor of Clinical Psychology from the University of East Anglia. She previously received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cambridge.
Her research focuses on psychological and neuropsychological barriers to good outcomes following stroke, including post-stroke pain, apathy, depression, suicidality, and lack of access to cognitive rehabilitation. She supervises doctoral level clinical research in these areas and has contributed to national clinical guidance in stroke, including serving as the Neuropsychology representative in the update of the NICE guidance on stroke rehabilitation for adults.
Dr. Ford's recent publications demonstrate trends in stroke rehabilitation, neuropsychological assessment, and psychological interventions for neurological conditions. Her work spans multiple subfields including cognitive rehabilitation, quality improvement in healthcare, and interdisciplinary approaches to neurorehabilitation across various neurological conditions.

Dr. Ford served as Academic Director of the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology at UEA from 2018-2023, overseeing curriculum restructuring and implementing online teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic. She co-leads the ClinPsyD module on Neuropsychology and teaches Stroke Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, and Leading Quality Improvement in Healthcare. She is an EMCC-accredited senior practitioner coach who mentors students and professionals in her field.
Dr. Ford actively contributes to the British Psychological Society Division of Neuropsychology Policy Unit, sits on the committee of the Organisation for Psychological Research in Stroke, and is a key member of the UK and Ireland Stroke Psychology Network. She regularly presents at national conferences including the UK Stroke Forum, with presentations scheduled through 2024.
