Catherine Corr

Catherine Corr is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education and Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on early childhood special education (ECSE) for children with disabilities who have experienced trauma, and she advocates for mixed methods research (MMR) to enhance evidence-based practices.

Dr. Corr’s work investigates: 1) support needs for trauma-exposed children and families, 2) professional development for ECSE educators, and 3) systemic improvements in service delivery. Her MMR expertise addresses methodological gaps in special education research.

Recent publications examine trauma-informed care in preschools, Pyramid Model applications, and equity in early intervention. She collaborates with researchers like Mia Chudzik and Rosa Milagros Santos.
