Catherine Choquette is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Sherbrooke. Her work focuses on environmental law, sustainable development, environmental mediation, and ecological analysis of law. She directs the Observatoire sur les Stratégies et les Acteurs de la Gouvernance Environnementale (SAGE) and co-founded the Centre de recherche sur la régulation et le droit de la gouvernance (CrRDG). She is also a member of the Association des biologistes du Québec and the Barreau du Québec.

She has contributed to international comparative studies on environmental mediation and published extensively on topics such as dam management, watershed governance, and municipal regulations for water protection.
She has received multiple research grants from organizations including FRQ, MELCC, CRSH, and OURANOS for projects on climate change governance, water management, and conflict resolution. Current projects include "Maintenir l’équilibre dynamique dans des systèmes éthico-juridique, écologique et physiologique" (2022-2024) and "Gouvernance des réserves de biodiversité" (2022).
Catherine Choquette's work is associated with research teams such as SAGE and CrRDG, and she has participated in international collaborations, including seminars in China and France, to explore environmental law and governance frameworks.
