Catherine Admay is a Senior Lecturer in the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, serving as Assistant Director of Graduate Studies and Duke Faculty Director of the Duke-UNC Rotary World Peace Center. She holds affiliate roles with Duke’s Global Health Institute and the Duke Initiative for Science and Society. Previously, she taught at NYU and Duke Law Schools, founding clinics focused on international development law. Her expertise spans health policy, law and development, human rights, and conflict transformation.
Admay earned a JD from Yale Law School (1992) and a BA (magna cum laude) from Yale College (1988). Her research emphasizes socio-economic rights in constitutional frameworks, global health equity, and interdisciplinary legal approaches. She has advised truth commissions in South Africa and the U.S., and worked with organizations like the Legal Resources Centre and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
