Cath Ferguson is a Senior Research Fellow at Edith Cowan University's School of Education. She holds a PhD in Education (2009) from ECU, a Graduate Diploma in Education (2004) from Murdoch University, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology (2000) from ECU.
Her research focuses on education systems, criminal justice, and resilience. Key areas include teacher well-being, school leadership, parole systems, and literacy initiatives. She has extensively studied the readability of public health and road safety information, emphasizing accessibility for diverse audiences.
Her articles reflect interdisciplinary engagement, spanning education policy, criminal justice reform, and community partnerships. Recent work explores AI applications in qualitative research and the impact of leadership on staff culture. She has received grants totaling over $180,000 for projects like evaluating Foodbank programs and analyzing travel behavior change.
Ferguson supervises doctoral and master’s students, focusing on topics such as teacher retention, prisoner education, and critical literacy. Her collaborative projects include the KindiLink pilot initiative and studies on Aboriginal remote school partnerships.
