Caterina Ledda is an Associate Professor of Occupational Medicine at the University of Catania, Italy, and holds a visiting professorship at Riga Stradins University, Latvia. She is affiliated with the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine and contributes to academic leadership as Acting President of the Degree Program in Prevention Techniques in the Environment and Workplace.

Her research focuses on occupational health and preventive medicine, with emphasis on: vaccination programs for vaccine-preventable diseases, mitigation of vaccine hesitancy, workplace health promotion, occupational carcinogenesis from asbestos and other carcinogens, molecular and biomarker studies in aging and shift workers, and biological monitoring. She also investigates digital technology-related work pathologies, precision medicine, gender medicine, and chronic degenerative disease risk factors.
While her 168 peer-reviewed publications span these fields, key trends include occupational toxicology, epidemiology, and health policy. She co-organizes the Etnean Occupational Medicine Workshop and collaborates with the Global Burden of Disease Study Group at the University of Washington.
Professor Ledda actively supervises student theses and contributes to editorial boards of international journals. Her work integrates molecular mechanisms with public health strategies to address occupational risks and promote preventive healthcare.
