Catalina Calafat Villalonga

Catalina Calafat Villalonga is an Associate Professor in the Psychology department at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), specializing in Personality, Psychological Assessment and Treatment. She teaches in the Master's program in General Health Psychology for academic years 2022-2026.

Her educational background includes a Psychology degree from UIB, a scholarship at the University of Florence, and three official Master's degrees: in General Health Psychology, Equality Policies and Prevention of Gender Violence, and Teacher Training. She also completed a Parenting Coordination Course from the University of Girona.

Dr. Calafat's research focuses on Health Psychology, Psychopathology across age groups, Gender Violence Prevention, and Emergency Psychological Intervention. She is currently advancing her academic career as a doctoral candidate in the Doctoral Program in Global Health, Health Services, and Social and Healthcare at UIB. Her teaching portfolio consistently covers evaluation and diagnosis of psychopathology in children, adolescents, and adults, professional foundations of health psychology, therapeutic communication skills, and external practice supervision.

She maintains an active clinical practice as a full-time general health psychologist at Catalina Calafat Psicología and serves as a member of the Psychological Intervention Group in Emergencies and Disasters of the Balearic Islands, demonstrating her commitment to both academic and community psychological services.
