Dr. Cassie Quigley is Chair and Professor of Science Education at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Education. She holds a PhD from Indiana University (2010) and B.S. in Biology with a Spanish minor. Her research focuses on equity in STEM education, particularly for underrepresented groups, and integrates environmental justice, computational thinking, and STEAM approaches. She leads the Strength Across Schools Partnership to develop justice-focused CS curricula for middle school ELA classrooms and co-developed environmental justice-focused Freedom Seminars. Awards include the 2022 Pitt Sustainability Award. She advises PhD students Holly Plank and Hillary Henry, and has secured grants from NSF and the Grable Foundation.

Research interests include liberatory STEAM pedagogy, decolonizing environmental education, and participatory methodologies. Recent grants support co-designed curricula with schools to transform STEM education through student-driven projects and environmental justice frameworks.
