Cassandra Tran is an Assistant Professor at Wake Forest University, appointed in 2022. She holds a PhD in Classics from McMaster University (2023), and previously served as the 2021-2022 Crake Classics Fellow at Mount Allison University and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Wake Forest University. Her research focuses on Roman Comedy, gender/sexuality in antiquity, and queer temporalities in classical texts.

Research interests include ancient drama, Augustan poetry, and intersections of queer/gender theory with classical studies. Her dissertation examined gender manipulation in Plautus and Terence’s plays, while current work explores non-hetero-patriarchal temporal frameworks in Roman Comedy, particularly围绕婚姻、生殖和继承的未来预期。
Recipient of the 2022 Graduate Student Presentation Prize for her analysis of olfactory costuming in Plautus’ Casina. Research featured in NYU’s 2021 Emerging Scholars Series.
