Cassandra Nuñez

Cassandra Nuñez is a Research Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences at the University of Memphis, leading studies on wildlife management using feral horses as model systems. Her research integrates behavioral ecology, stress physiology, and conservation biology to assess impacts of management practices. She teaches Ecology and Environmental Issues (BIOL 4055/6055) and Physiological Aspects of Animal Behavior (BIOL 4092).

Research investigates immunocontraception effects on social behavior, stress physiology in managed populations, mother-offspring communication, and microbiome ecology. Publications emphasize physiological and behavioral adaptations in wildlife conservation contexts.
