Casey Cazer

Dr. Casey Cazer is a faculty member at Cornell University with dual appointments in the College of Veterinary Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Public & Ecosystem Health. He serves as Associate Director of the Small Animal Community Practice Service.

Dr. Cazer’s research focuses on zoonotic disease epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance, and One-Health solutions. He develops statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and mathematical frameworks to study AMR transmission dynamics in livestock and companion animals. Recent work includes standardizing multidrug resistance definitions and exploring AI applications in veterinary diagnostics.

His 15 most recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate interdisciplinary expertise in AMR tracking, Salmonella, Staphylococcus pseudintermedius, and E. coli resistance patterns, with methodological emphasis on machine learning and genomic analysis. Topics span from bovine feedlot interventions to feline antibiotic stewardship and environmental contamination.
