Carsten Ohlrogge is a Researcher at the Department of Sociology, University of Münster, affiliated with the Graduate School of Sociology. His work focuses on technology sociology, posthumanism, and the philosophical implications of digital technologies. He holds a PhD candidate status since 2023 and completed a dual Master’s in Science Philosophy and Sociology (2017-2021), as well as a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Communication Science (2014-2017).
His research examines affective human-machine relations, digital afterlife phenomena, and the sociological implications of artificial intelligence. He is a member of interdisciplinary networks like SONA (Sociology of Sustainability) and the Center for Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research. He teaches seminars on posthuman existence, human limitations in tech societies, and digital AI representations.
Key publications include analyses of digital afterlife dynamics, posthumanist critiques, and the theoretical foundations of socialization. His work bridges existential phenomenology, poststructuralism, and symbolic interactionism to explore how technological advancements reshape human self-perception and societal structures.
