Carsten Frouvne Knudsen

Carsten Frouvne Knudsen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He holds a PhD (1991–1994) and M.Sc. (1985–1991) from DTU. Previously, he served as a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at the University of Leeds (1996–1999) and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at both Leeds (1995–1996) and DTU (1994–1995).

His research focuses on numerical analysis of dynamical systems, nonlinear dynamics, chaos theory, and applications to mechanical and biological systems. He also actively contributes to physics education development, including e-learning initiatives. Notable projects include developing e-learning courses in environmental technology and supervising PhD students in areas like subcutaneous injection modeling and glucose-lipid metabolism biosimulation.

He has authored/co-authored 18 publications, with recent work emphasizing parameter estimation in bifurcation systems, catastrophe theory in oscillators, and convective instabilities in chemical systems. His projects highlight interdisciplinary collaborations in biosimulation, metabolic modeling, and stochastic dynamics.
