Carrie J Smith is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Syracuse University, affiliated with the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics and Women's and Gender Studies. She holds a DSW from Howard University (1998), M.S.W. from Virginia Commonwealth University (1978), and B.A. in Sociology from Hampton Institute (1976). Her research focuses on social welfare policy, child welfare systems, veteran family dynamics, disability rights, and racial equity in social work practice.
