Carolynn Kohn is a Professor and Department Chair in the Psychology department at the University of the Pacific. She holds a PhD from Hahnemann University (2000), an MA (1996), and a BA from the University of California Santa Barbara (1991). Her teaching philosophy emphasizes challenging yet engaging pedagogy, informed by contemporary research and critical thinking. Her research focuses on behavioral psychology, particularly college student alcohol consumption and methodological rigor in developmental psychology and ethical decision-making. She has pioneered studies on behavioral skills training for alcohol-pouring accuracy, infant preference for prosocial behavior, and the application of token reinforcement for physical activity in children. Her work bridges theory and practice, with contributions to substance use prevention and career counseling interventions.
Dr. Kohn has over 50 peer-reviewed publications, emphasizing behavioral interventions, replication studies, and college student behavior.
