Carolyn Mountford is Professor of Radiology & Neuroglycobiology at Griffith University's Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. She develops magnetic resonance (MR) technology for clinical applications in neuro disorders (PTSD, brain injury), cancer diagnostics (ovarian/breast cancer), and metabolic profiling. Her research identifies fucosylated glycans as key biomarkers in neurological conditions and cancer metastasis.
She holds an MSc and DPhil from Oxford and an MS from Harvard. Previously, she was Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Centre for Clinical Spectroscopy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
