Carolyn M. Callahan

Dr. Carolyn M. Callahan is the Brown-Forman Endowed Chair and Professor of Accountancy at the University of Louisville's AACSB-accredited College of Business. She previously served as Dean of the College of Business and Vice Provost at the University of Louisville. Her research focuses on accounting information transmission, capital/product market frictions, and regulatory frameworks, with publications in top journals like The Accounting Review and Journal of Accounting Research. She has presented research to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and holds editorial leadership as Editor of Accounting Horizons. She has held leadership roles including Vice President of the American Accounting Association (AAA) and Faculty Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

Education: PhD (Finance) from Michigan State University (1986), MACC from Bowling Green State University, and BSBA (Accounting) from Ohio Northern University.

Awards: KPMG Research Fellow (University of Notre Dame), KPMG Distinguished Professor of Accounting (University of Memphis).

Professional Contributions: Founded the KPMG-sponsored PhD Project, member of FASB Advisory Council, and active in academic and industry collaborations.
