Carolyn Glackin, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership at Wayne State College. Her professional background includes roles as a middle school reading teacher, an assistant professor at Morningside University, an independent literacy consultant, and a K-8 educator. She has also served as a third-level Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) professional development provider for the Iowa Department of Education. Dr. Glackin has contributed to committees such as the Institutional Review Board and Academic Standards Review and held district leadership roles in Iowa. She is an active member of the International Literacy Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development / International Society for Technology in Education.
Her research focuses on long-term professional development initiatives and cost-effectiveness analysis for reading interventions in school districts. Dr. Glackin holds an Ed.D. from the University of South Dakota, an MAE, and a BAE from Wayne State College.
