Carolyn Beasley

Dr. Carolyn Beasley is a Senior Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology's School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education. She serves as Course Director for the Masters of Writing and Academic Director of Research Training, supporting over 20 PhD completions. Her expertise spans creative practice, crime fiction (especially antihero narratives), and innovative teaching methods in prisons and higher education.

Her research focuses on creative writing pedagogy, crime narrative structures, and the intersection of media/journalism with societal issues. Notable awards include an Australian Learning and Teaching Citation and multiple institutional recognitions for teaching excellence and service.

Carolyn has supervised numerous PhD and Masters projects across diverse topics like digital media's impact on share trading, cross-genre storytelling, and cultural translation challenges.
