Carolyn Barbieri

Carolyn Barbieri, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine. Her clinical practice focuses on pediatric anesthesiology, acute/region pain management, outpatient anesthesia, and orthopedic anesthesia at Penn State Health. She has contributed to research on anesthesia techniques for dental procedures and laser surgeries.

• Education: MD from Penn State College of Medicine (2004), Residency in Anesthesiology (2008), Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology (2009).

Her research explores innovations in anesthesia delivery, including the use of Nd:YAG lasers under general anesthesia and sedation protocols for dental procedures. She has published book chapters on anesthesia applications.

Clinical Services: Acute/Regional Pain Anesthesia, Cardiac Anesthesiology, Outpatient Anesthesia, Pediatric Anesthesia, Orthopedic Anesthesia.
