Caroline Wagner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at McGill University and an Associate Member of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. She leads the Biofluids and Global Health Lab, focusing on cross-scale modeling of disease dynamics and mucin-pathogen interactions.
Her research spans Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and Global Health. Key projects include:
- Characterizing mucus as a physical barrier to pathogens
- Developing population-level and within-host disease models
- Designing biomimetic materials to alter transmission dynamics
The Biofluids and Global Health Lab addresses global health challenges exacerbated by climate change and pathogen evolution. Recent work explores SARS-CoV-2 transmission, vaccine hesitancy, and wearable sensor deployment for pandemic mitigation.
Her publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches combining biophysics, epidemiology, and policy analysis to tackle respiratory diseases and global health disparities.
