Caroline M. Sierra is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. She specializes in pediatric pharmacotherapy and infectious diseases, with a focus on academic pharmacy practices and clinical education. Dr. Sierra holds a PharmD from the University of New Mexico School of Pharmacy and completed PGY1/PYG2 residencies at Loma Linda University. Her research emphasizes pediatric pharmacotherapy, including prevention of catheter-related infections, DOAC use in pediatrics, and vitamin K therapy for coagulopathy. She actively contributes to professional organizations like the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and California Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Dr. Sierra’s work spans over 30 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national conferences. Her recent articles address residency program impacts, US News pharmacy rankings debates, and pediatric DOAC guidelines. She has pioneered studies on ethanol lock solutions for bloodstream infections and vitamin K in critically ill children.
