Caroline Haux is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Comparative Literature at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics, Stockholm University. Her research bridges literary, cultural, and gender studies with a focus on Scandinavian literature from the 119th to 20th centuries.
- Research Interests: National identity, biopolitics, gendered citizenship, and the intersection of commodity markets with literary form.
- Key Projects: Funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (Sabbatical project on 19th-century Scandinavian literature) and previously by the Vetenskapsrådet (Allegory, Gender, Society project).
Publications analyze how 19th-century novels construct citizen subjects through consumption, spatiality, and power dynamics. Her 2013 thesis explores modernist aesthetics in Karin Boye and Henry Parland’s works, linking sexuality to commodity logic.
