Caroline Ford is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Communications, Screen and Performance within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Chester, where she has taught since 2006 across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including BA Media and Television Production, BA Film and Media Studies, and BA Acting.
Her academic background includes:

Her research centers on sustainable filmmaking and climate storytelling, investigating eco-conscious methodologies in television production. Currently pursuing her PhD, she actively contributes to interdisciplinary projects like the AHRC-funded Mobility of Objects Across Boundaries (MOB), producing short films in collaboration with historians and the Open University. This work bridges practical filmmaking with environmental advocacy through climate-focused narratives and sustainable production techniques.
She teaches core modules including TV Directing, Scriptwriting, Animation, and Acting for Camera while supervising student dissertations. Her knowledge exchange initiatives encompass BFI 360 filmmaking academies for teenagers and commercial productions like the Warrington Wolves rugby team DVD, demonstrating applied industry experience from her pre-academic career as a BBC/ITV Producer-Director.
Collaborative partnerships with Reel Solutions, Storyhouse Chester, and cross-departmental teams highlight her community engagement in media education and sustainable practice development.
