Caroline Cornish is a historical geographer and Research Fellow at the Department of Geography, Royal Holloway, University of London. She specializes in collections-based research, museum studies, and public engagement in the arts and humanities. She currently serves as Co-Investigator on the AHRC-funded Plant Humanities project and previously held a Post-Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position on the Mobile Museum project, collaborating with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. She is an Honorary Research Associate at Kew and a board member of the Museums and Galleries History Group.
- Research Interests: Museum histories, colonial networks, science and empire, object-based research, biocultural collections.
Her work focuses on the mobility of museum collections and their intersections with imperial science. Recent publications explore the circulation of economic botany collections and the potential of Plant Humanities as a new interdisciplinary field. She has co-edited volumes on mobile museums and contributed to AHRC-funded projects linking arts, humanities, and plant sciences.
Her research has been supported by grants including the AHRC Cultural Engagement Fund and ESRC mobility projects. She collaborates widely with institutions like Kew and international scholars to advance interdisciplinary approaches to museum studies and environmental humanities.
