Anna Svensson is a researcher at the Department of History of Science and Ideas, Uppsala University, specializing in the history of botany, collection practices, and the epistemological implications of botanical archives. Her current project 'Botanical Marginalia' (2021–2023), funded by the Swedish Research Council, examines early modern plant-pressing practices and their relevance to contemporary collection management.

Publications highlight her work on digitization challenges at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and the cultural significance of pressed plants in early modern Europe.
Scientific awards include the Annals of Science Best Essay Prize (2018). She has received research grants from Ridderstads stiftelse, Helge Ax:son Johnsons’ Foundation, and Lerichi Foundation for fieldwork in Florence, London, and Oxford.
