Carolina Hermida Bellot

Carolina Hermida Bellot is an Associate Professor at the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (UCH), Valencia. She holds a PhD in Social Communication (2019) and has been actively involved in teaching, research, and institutional management since 2012. Her research focuses on film and television analysis, particularly gender representation in Spanish cinema and TV series like Ally McBeal, and the works of Luis García Berlanga. She coordinates the Photography and Video Teaching Unit and has led key initiatives such as the International Congress on Mediterranean Film (2021) and the Mediterraneo, Festival y Carnaval conference.

Education:

Research Interests: Gender studies in film/TV, cultural analysis of Spanish cinema, media methodology, and interdisciplinary pedagogy. She curates the MediArte photography/video exhibitions and co-directs the Proyecta Audiovisual Competition. Her work bridges academic research with practical teaching, emphasizing transversal university projects.

Grants & Management: Secured funding for conferences like the 2021 International Congress. Managed the Audiovisual Production Center (2016-17), coordinated External Internships (2012–present), and chairs the Luis García Berlanga Research Chair (2018–present). She also evaluates for Kepes Magazine and Fotocinema.

Labs & Teams: Active in the Luis García Berlanga Research Chair and coordinates the Photography and Video Teaching Unit.
