Begoña Siles Ojeda

Begoña Siles Ojeda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Publicity at CEU-Cardenal Herrera University, where she teaches Narrative Analysis, Film Theories, Audiovisual Writing, and History of Spanish Cinema. She also serves as Director of the Luis García Berlanga Chair and Coordinator of the Audiovisual Communication Degree. Additionally, she teaches Cinematic Genres at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Valladolid.

Her research centers on textual analysis and the representation of gender—both feminine and masculine—in film, television, and artistic media. This interdisciplinary focus is reflected in her publications in prominent academic journals such as Trama y Fondo, Zer, Razón y Palabra, and Trípodos.

Her scholarly work is complemented by her professional engagement as a film critic for Allioli. Teaching Notebooks in the Valencian Country and Makma. Magazine of Visual Arts and Contemporary Culture, demonstrating a strong connection between academic research and cultural discourse.

She has been recognized for her literary talent, winning the First Prize in the XIV Literary Narrative Contest for Women organized by the Generalitat Valenciana with her short story Un toque de canela.

She has received positive accreditation as a Contracted Doctor and Private University Professor from the Valencian Accreditation Commission, under the Valencian Government’s Ministry of Business, University, and Science. Her institutional roles include Coordinator of Mobility (Vicerrectorado de Internacionalización), Director of Observatories and Research Bodies (Vicerrectorado de Investigación y Transferencia), and member of final degree project evaluation committees.

She is actively involved in academic leadership, research, and cultural criticism, contributing significantly to the fields of audiovisual studies and gender representation in media.
