Professor Carolin Plewa is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Researcher Education and Development) and Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Adelaide, alongside her role as Professor of Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement. She leads the Adelaide Graduate Research School and the Division of Research and Innovation, focusing on fostering university-business collaboration, market shaping, and stakeholder engagement. Her research explores value co-creation in complex systems, with particular emphasis on higher education partnerships and corporate social responsibility.
Her academic leadership roles include Deputy Dean (Research) for the Faculty of the Professions and Academic Lead for Engagement and Impact Assessment. She has been recognized with the 2019 Australian Financial Review Higher Education Awards (Emerging Leader) and inclusion in the 2020 Educator Higher Education Hot List. Her work has led to roles on the South Australian Science Council and ARC Engagement & Impact Assessment Panel.
Dr. Plewa’s research spans university-industry innovation, service marketing, and CSR strategies. She has co-edited the Future of Universities Thoughtbook series and secured multiple ARC grants. Her industry experience includes roles in strategic marketing and education management, bridging academic and corporate sectors.
Key professional activities include co-chairing the UIIN Australia Chapter and serving on ACEEU’s council. Her grants include projects on wine industry co-creation and financial planning perceptions. She actively supervises research students and contributes to policy frameworks for university engagement and impact assessment.
