Carole Bucy serves as a Professor in the Office of Academic Affairs at Cumberland University, alongside her honorary role as Davidson County Historian. She previously held faculty positions at Volunteer State Community College.

Dr. Bucy specializes in Tennessee and Nashville history, particularly the 1925 city-county consolidation forming Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County, and the women's suffrage movement. She authored the Nashville Metro Schools' 4th-5th grade social studies textbook and led research for the Nashville Public Library's Votes for Women Room.
Public Engagement
She teaches public courses like 'Nashville 101/102' and 'Tennessee 101/102' via Zoom, reaching 400+ participants nationwide. She also contributes to Vanderbilt's Osher Lifelong Learning Program and serves on the Tennessee Historical Quarterly Advisory Board.
