Carol Wade is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work, University of Windsor, with over 25 years of experience in social work practice, education, and community engagement. Her work focuses on child welfare systems, equity integration, and youth engagement, informed by critical theories and pedagogies.
- Education: Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, BSW and M.S.W. from York University, and a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Windsor.
Dr. Wade has held diverse roles in the child welfare sector, including frontline work, management, and corporate coordination. She teaches undergraduate and graduate social work courses and has developed workshops centered on Black youth wellbeing, family engagement, and self-reflexivity practices.
Her research emphasizes deconstructing oppressive systems through equity-driven frameworks, prioritizing the translation of theoretical knowledge into actionable outcomes for marginalized communities. She also explores the impacts of historical trauma on contemporary social work practices.
