Carol Senf

Carol Senf is a Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Institute of Technology. She holds a PhD in Victorian Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1979) and has been at Georgia Tech since 1981. Her research focuses on Victorian literature, Gothic traditions, and the works of Bram Stoker, particularly exploring themes of gender, science, and cultural anxiety in horror narratives. She has authored multiple books, including Dracula: Between Tradition and Modernism (1998), which won the Lord Ruthven Assembly Award, and edited volumes like A Research Guide to Gothic Literature in English (2018). Senf’s work frequently engages with vampire archetypes, the New Woman movement, and intersections of literature with historical context.
