Dr. Carol Quirke serves as Professor and Director of the M.A. in Liberal Studies Graduate Program at SUNY Old Westbury's American Studies Department in the School of Arts and Sciences. Her office is located in the New Academic Building, Room 3007.

Research explores 20th-century visual culture through photography and media, with focus on labor history, social movements, and representations of class and inequality. Her work examines how visual media shapes historical understanding of social conflicts and working-class experiences.
Publications analyze documentary photography's role in social reform, including examinations of Dorothea Lange's work, labor photography, and media representations of historical events like the 1937 Memorial Day Massacre. Her scholarship consistently bridges visual studies, labor history, and cultural analysis.
